SUMMARY
I was born and raised in Northern California. As a child, I enjoyed playing sports and building my own instruction-free LEGO and K'Nex models. In high school, I took CAD classes, participated in the ACE Mentor Program, played football, basketball and track and interned at an architecture firm. My early exposure to the STEM feilds heavily influenced my decision to study engineering in college.
I graduated from The University of Akron in December of 2017 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. I was one of the 30 members of Akron's School of Engineering 2017 Dean's Team and I lead a research team in the musculoskeletal biomechanics laboratory. With a diverse, hands on, problem-solving background, I have developed an increased interest in product development and supply chain.
GOALS
Upon receiving my bachelor's degree, I intend to pursue a career in the medical device industry and eventually earn a master's degree in biomedical engineering as well as an MBA. My goal is to use my background in engineering and art to create functional and aesthetic solutions to medical problems that affect millions of people worldwide.
In addition to creating innovative medical device solutions, I aim to continue working with public middle schools and high schools through public speaking as well as encouraging the integration of STEM into their curriculum.
